Great Start to 2018

Good day CPMB family,

It is hard to believe that another new school year is about to begin. As I reflect on the last 14 years,  this will be my 15th year as a music educator, I can honestly say that I have never been as excited to start a new school as I am this year. The energy, positivity, discipline and love our kids have exemplified the last two weeks has been truly inspiring. They are amazing people and I am thankful to work with them.

I also want to thank and acknowledge all of the CPMB family and friends that made it out to the preview show this past Saturday. I think we can all agree that the hard work our kids have put in to this show has certainly started them off on the right foot. It is my sincerest hope that all of you will share in the excitement has our kids and program continue to grow over the next few months. I have no doubt that if they continue on this path, they will achieve a new level of excellence.

As you all know tomorrow evening is Open House at Durant from 5:00-7:00. For those of you new to Durant, open house is a “come and go” style event and should not take the full 2 hours. Because of this the band will be rehearsing from 6:00-8:00 rather than the scheduled time of 4:00-7:00. In addition, there is no rehearsal this Thursday (August 9) due to a Drum Corps International (DCI) event being broadcast at the AMC Brandon Theatre that evening. This event is open to the public and I would highly encourage our students to attend if possible. Please note that the following week of August 13-17 the bands regular rehearsal schedule of 4:00-7:00 on Tuesday and 4:00-8:00 on Thursday will begin. All rehearsal times and performance dates are on the Charms calendar and can be synced with your mobile device.

Thank you all again for starting this year off with an amazing turnout at our kids first performance…we look forward to see you at many, many more!!

Mr. H
