Weekly Music Notes, 1/22/2018

Good afternoon CPMB family!

I hope this message finds everyone well on this Tuesday morning. Congratulations to our Cougar Pride Winterguard on an outstanding performance at FFCC Premiere this past Saturday! The team took 6th place in their first competitive performance in class AA! The Winterguard’s next performance of their 2018 production “Colorblind” will be on February 10, at Freedom High School in Tampa. So, if you missed the Winterguard at premiere, come out to Freedom and give them your support!

I would also like to congratulate the band students that participated in the All County Band and Orchestra ensembles. The final concert was fantastic and all of the ensembles played extremely well. I also need to give a huge thank you to the parents and students that helped run the 3-day All County event. You all were and are rock stars and I hope you know that, without each one of you, the event would not have been a success.

We have many events taking place during the 3rd nine weeks and, as we head into the busiest time of year, I am going to encourage everyone to check the DHS Band Program calendar on a regular basis. Two of the biggest events we have on the horizon are the WGI Regional we are hosting on February 17 and our FFCC Regional on March 10. Volunteer slots have been posted to Charms and we still have MANY open slots. These events benefit our students and we can’t host a successful show without everyone working together.

Lastly, those of you traveling to Ney York please keep an eye out for any important emails being sent out. Last week I sent an email that contained directions on how to set up a “profile” on the World Strides web site. These profiles are how I will set up our official rooming list and how the airline coordinator will enter your legal name for boarding passes. This is time sensitive, as I must have the rooming lists completed and turned in to World Strides by the end of next week. If you have any questions regarding this process, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Have a great week!!

Mr. H
