Band News and Upcoming Events

Good Evening Music Booster Family,

I hope this evening finds you all well !
I have to admit, this is my favorite time of year as preparations are being made for the holiday season.  Traditional or otherwise, I hope you all enjoy this season spending time with family and friends making memories.

But, as they say in New York, the city never sleeps, our band family also never sleeps.  As we move in to our concert band part of the year, I want to stress the importance of obligations to our marching band family.
On our Charms calendar, there are many opportunities for you to sign up for events to support our band volunteering in our Cougar Grill and Cougar Caf .  As this is our major source of income, it is very important that we all do our due diligence to volunteer for events. Please Check the calendar often.   We have many families that have not fulfilled their concession obligations.  For those of you that have, THANK YOU.

We also have many opportunities for you to volunteer at Raymond James as well.  Working at Raymond James has helped many families pay their band fees and trips during the year.  There are only a few more events to take advantage of this year to help fund your band account.  It is important to keep funds in your band account to pay for any fees incurred.   Any money earned stays in your account for your student. If you have younger students that you anticipate will join our family, any monies you earn roll over to them as well.   Any students owing fees by their senior year go on the schools indebtedness list.  This will prevent them from attending special events like Gradbash and Prom and most important, they will not receive their diplomas.
Also,  any student owing fees at years end will not have the opportunity to attend our annual band banquet.

While on the topic of Raymond James, we have 2 events this coming Thanksgiving weekend.   The USF vs. UCF event on Saturday November 26,  we are in desperate need of volunteers.  At this time there are only 4 people signed up.  We also need volunteers for the Bucs game on Sunday November 27.  For these events, and events in December and January,  Aramark is paying out $100 per person incentiveand plus commission.  This is a huge opportunity for our families to take advantage of.  Remember, that anyone, friend or family member over 18 that has completed TEAM training can work for your student.  Your student can also work if they are 18 or over completed TEAM training.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

For the games this weekend, here is some important information.

For Saturday, November 26 Check In for General and Club leads is 8:00 am.  General and Club volunteers , check in is at 8:30 am.  Doors open at 10:30 am, club and general.  Parking is at Steinbrenner Field, so please allow yourself enough time to park and walk over to Raymond James Stadium.

For Sunday November 27,  Check In for club leads is 11:00am and volunteers 11:30 am.  General level leads check in is 12:00pm and volunteers at 12:30pm.  Doors open at 1:30 pm for club, and 2:30pm for general.  Parking is at HCC with a shuttle to Gate B.  As I bring my lengthy letter to a close, I want to wish you all a very blessed Thanksgiving holiday.  To our students, I hope this break is a restful one for you.

I look forward to working with you at one, or both of the events this coming weekend.  I hope you can find the time to come out and work with us.  We can never have too many volunteers, and we most certainly can not do it with out all of you.

Have a Blessed Holiday,

Ann Fahie
