Good evening CPMB,
I hope everyone had a restful weekend after our first football game of the season! For those of you that were in attendance, the band thanks you for your continued support and hopes you will join us for all of our remaining performances this season…the show is only going to get better!
I would like to give a big, heartfelt thank you to all of the families that aided in providing dinner for our students on Friday night! Having a good meal is vital and I hope more families will get involved and volunteer to make sure our students have a hot meal every Friday night.
As we look a head to this week there a few reminders that I would like to remind you about. The first is that there is NO GAME this Friday. Per district policies, every high school band must eliminate their furthest away game, and this Friday’s game at Hillsborough, happens to be our furthest game. Second, please do not forget to turn all of the necessary forms (medical release, Handbook contract, Medical Information, etc.) by this Friday.
The third is more of an update than a reminder…I have extended the registration deadline for HOT Day (I will explain below) until Friday, August 26. HOT Day, is sponsored by the University of South Florida’s Herd of Thunder (HOT) Marching Band and gives high school students the opportunity to perform side by side with the HOT, during a game, at Raymond James Stadium. It is a tremendous experience and I encourage each and every one of my students make an effort to participate. Click here for all of the details, including the registration form and itinerary.
Lastly, please do not forget that Spirit Shirt orders are due next Friday, September 2. All money and forms need to be deposited into the safe by this date or they will not be included in the order. Thank you again to those of you that came out to support our students this Friday. I look forward to seeing an even bigger CPMB crowd at our next game on September 2nd!!
